Try to plan on January and let me know when you might be here. We are planning on getting together at the Burbank Bar and Grill in January so if we could arrange it for when you will be here, that would be awesome. Let us know.

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope we can remember not to get caught up in the cost of the season, but rather the blessings. I know that I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends and memories. Hugs to all, and to all a good night.

It was so great to see all the names from high school. I enjoyed looking at the pictures from the reunion (I am sorry that I missed it). Now that I am found I hope to attend the next one.

Greetings to all my classmates I hope you all enjoy the upcoming holidays. It is a time to be grateful for all of the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy in this great land. I know the tough economy has taken its toll on many of our classmates and their families. Lets try to keep our harts open those who my be in need and just maybe you will be the answer to someone’s prayer.

God Bless

Dean, I got the CD's and have listened to both. I enjoyed Tristen's much more than the other one. I like songs that have a rhythm I can latch onto. I did find, however, that by the end of Tristen's CD I was wanting a bit more variety. Everything started to blur into one. But my favorite songs are the first 4 on the CD with the 1st one being my very favorite. She has a very interesting voice. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm not remembering the name of the band on the other CD, but they are really good players. I think the singer reminded me of a cross between Elvis and the Doors...(at least if my memory serves me correctly) I've only listened to it once. Maybe I'll have to go back and revisit. Have a great Thanksgiving if I don't chat with you again before then.

I know I'm thankful for the friends and family God has given me.

Blessings,

Kathie

Hi Gene, I will be waiting to hear the date for the January gig, it sounds like everyone had a great time at the reunion. It will be great to see old faces, ya like someone wrote, it's hard to believe we are approching 50!!!!!

Anyone else out there that knows me, send me a note, I would love to hear from old pals!!

Oh ya, Gene, to answer your question, I lived in Texas for 8 years, I have been back about 6 weeks.

Gene De Felicis

October 24, 2008

Hi Malia. How long did you live in Texas? We are getting together in January at the Burbank Bar n Grill. Come join us. We had a blast there last week.

Just an update: I went and talked to the manager at the Burbank Bar n Grill about my CC# being stolen. He apologized and said that nothing like thay has happened in the 11 years he has been there. He was very concerned and said that all emplyees would be spoken to concerning this. He seemed very sincere. Everyone just be extra careful next time we meet.

October 23, 2008

The world sure has changed since our days at John Burroughs! Gene I'm sorry to hear after a very fun evening that someone cleaned out your account. What's the world coming to?

Malia Bown Lindy

October 22, 2008

Hi everyone!! I just moved back from TX. alittle over a month ago. I am really sorry that I missed the reunion in August, but since I now live hare I can attend any future activities.

Gene De Felicis

October 21, 2008

Sorry to have to post this but... MY CHECKING ACCOUNT WAS CLEANED OUT AFTER OUR NIGHT AT THE BURBANK BAR N GRILL. I just got off the phone with my bank and it appears that immediately after I paid for my drinks at the bar the night of or mini reunion on 10/17 My account started getting hit with fraudulent charges. Three of them hit before we got to Tommy's, and then they continued to hit afterwards. Cleaned my acount dry.

On a lighter note: I still had a BLAST! I hope all is well with all of you. Can't wait to see you in January. I'll be bringing cash. :)

Kathie, Teri, Jeanie, Dave, Stacey and Gene. Wow what a blast!! and an unexpected treat. I really enjoyed spending time with you all and I am already looking forward to our next adventure. Jeanie thanks for the heads up on the BHS mixer. I just wish I could have stayed longer. Seeing old friends from Luther Burbank was such a surprize and so much fun. Kathie the pictures of the armadillo cakes were a smash at work everybody thought they were amazing! Gene, It's always good spending time with you and Stacey and Pictures from the upcoming party will be a crack up I am sure. I will see you there.

Gene De Felicis

October 19, 2008

I couldn't agree with you more Kathie. I had an absolute blast at both places. Dave Hawkins, it was great finally spending some time with you and your first two beers are on me in January. Jeanie, it was so good talking with you again and thanks for letting us know about the BHS mixer. Seeing Bev Forrand again after 33 years really made my night. Teri and Kathie, as always, you are so much fun to be around. Thanks Teri for driving so far to be with us. Dean, Good spending time with you and I'll see you next weekend. We'll have to post some pics so everyone here can laugh at us.

Kathie Christman Kallestad

October 18, 2008

Well, I can't speak for any of you that showed up last night, but I had a wonderful time. For those curious minds out there, Dean Whiteside, Gene DeFelicis and his lovely wife Stacy, Dave Hawkins, Jeanie Ramirez, Teri Shaver and myself started the evening at the Burbank Bar and Grill. We then decided a Tommy's hamburger was in order..lots of chili to go around and then we "crashed" the Burbank Highs get together at the Whiskey Bend (did I get that right) where we were reunite with our Luther Burbank friends, Beverly Forrand, Kelly Krolls, Karen Scozzola and Ladonna Grande.

It was once again a great way to get out of the house and have a visit with "old" friends.

Dean, thanks for the pictures. I also hope you guys from the football team are able to put together a compilation of footage from your old games.

We all agreed that our next get together will be the middle of January 2009. So anyone else who is interested, please keep watching this site for more details. In fact, if you are interested, just drop me an email and I'll start a list. That way I will know who to contact as the time gets closer.

Blessings, thanks for a fun night.

Dave...I owe you a CD.

Hello again, ok, here's what I know. Teri Shaver, myself, Ron Malo, Gene DeFelicis and Mark Denny will be at the Burbank Bar and Grill this Friday, October 17th. If anyone else is interested in joining us, come on down. I apologize for NOT being able to send out individual emails for this meeting..I just haven't had the time. One of these days I'll figure out how to email everyone at once and "hide" everyone's address. Until then, I ask your forgiveness. Hope to see some of you soon.

Blessings,

I'm not sure yet, I haven't had time to send out emails. I don't know how to "blast" without letting everyone see everyone else's email, so I always have to do it one at a time. So any suggestions or info on how I "bulk" email without all the emails showing would be great.

Calling all alumni. I received a request from Victoria DeLange's daughter. If any of you knew Victoria, could you please email me. She is wanting to know any tidbit of information about her mom, since Victoria passed away before her daughter really got to know her. My email address is katyskloset@aol.com. I will forward any story or info along to her. Thanks for your help. I wish I had known Victoria, but sadly I only knew her face.

Gene, great story. There are certain people who forge and impression on you as a kid growing up. Your dad was one of those people. He was one of the best coaches I ever had, definitely "old school". I look back and it wasn't just about playing football, it was teaching you how to be a man. I now coach my young boys and their teammates and I try to live up to those great coaches I had. It's not just about playing...its about what your made up of. Give him my best. I know he gave us his.

Hey Vic Nill. Not only don't I sing Saturday in the Park anymore, but it took me a couple minutes to even recall the old Chicago song. When I thought back to high school the only songs that came to mind seemed to be all by Queen. It looks like 30 years after Mr Rouse's printshop classes we're both still in printing. I'll email you.

Gene: The honor bestowed on your dad was a long time coming. I'm going to share the article with my dad today. I remember when my dad coached for the Sun Valley Falcons because Burbank didn't have a team. Once the Vikings were started by your dad and Joe O. he moved my brothers to the Burbank Vikings to play and from then on he coached Vikings for many years. I remember the green and gold cheerleading outfits too! Great memories!

Wow, when I think of our reunion, I can't stop smiling! What incredible joy fills me when I think of all my classmates. God was in heaven and all was right with the world that night!

Jeannie Ramirez my softball friend since we were 9, seeing your sweet face made me feel such amazing peace.

Dave Foy you handsome devel, thanks for all your kind and gentle words and for thinking of me from time to time. It did my heart good to hear and see you too.

Bev - every time I see or think of you, I remember our experience on stage with Sweet Charity. I feel bonded to you for life! I'm happy to know that you're keeping your world filled with music. The presentation was perfect and "For Good" was a beautiful choice - I got the message - and I feel the same!

Dave Hawkins - thanks for the golf day! You rock! And I don't care what anyone says, you can swing a mean club my friend.

We're also thinking about meeting at the Burbank Bar and Grill early next month on a Friday for people who took pictures (or just want an excuse to visit) and would like to get them on the site. Cindy Sherwood – Yes I do remember Craig doing that take on George Carlin it was quite funny. The other thing that I remember about Heff’s class is Craig and Cathy could at any time of the day, would breakout into Steve Martins S.L.N. “Were just a bunch of wild and crazy guys” What a great time I had in that class. My only regret is that I did not find Heffs class sooner.

A big hello to Laura Graber it’s been along time since Nanette and I have seen you. I hope you are doing well. We have been in Southern Utah for the last 17 years; it’s been a great place to raise our kids.

Jack Beckwith...always so good to see you. Love the ponytail :)
To all the other people I spoke with thank you for coming and taking the time to chat.
I really enjoyed the MC's. I thought they were spontaneous and funny. Thank you. It takes a lot of courage to get up there. I loved the slide show. I'm so glad you found the picture of us Samantha. I liked that.
In the end, it was great to see all of you and to those I didn't talk with I wish I could have. Hopefully next year at the Bar & Grill. Anyone can email me anytime. bbjewel@aol.com

To echo so many – GREAT JOB REUNION COMMITTEE!!

Talking about how fast 30 years goes by, the night seemed to fly by as well. It was great seeing everyone both Friday as well as Saturday night.

Laurie Knight and Laura Graber it was nice spending time on Friday night with the two of you. Laurie you are right us California Street kids had a great time as always. Speaking of CA street kids, Sharon McCorkle I am so glad you came it has been years since I’ve seen you and I want to make sure we stay I touch. Gene I will be sure to stay in touch, you are an amazing person with your memory. Talking to you as you remembered our elementary school days brought back many memories. Sheree and Gina I am glad we got to spend some time talking on Saturday night it was fun talking about “old” times. Jeff, Joe, Steve and Scott it was a laugh a minute at our table and was much too short. Jeanne I didn’t get to talk to you on Friday but was glad I got to spend some time with you on Saturday. Stay strong and I wish you the best! Betty (and yes you will be Betty always) I was happy you came and we got to talk about the early days and the fun we had growing up. I will be sure to tell my brother we had a good laugh about your porch sweeping days. Know that I could go on and on about all of you that I spent time with and the ones I missed but I’m sure everyone would get bored. Suffice it to say that I enjoyed the short time we all had this weekend and hope that we have as good a showing (if not better) at our 35th!

Anyone and everyone stay in touch – scottm@garwoodlabs.com

Has anyone clicked on the "events/prices" button at the top? We have a new event! In just one short year we will be meeting at the Burbank Bar and Grill once again. If anyone ever has an event that they want posted on this website, please feel free to contact me.

Ron, thanks for getting the photos together and figuring out a way to post them for everyone. I know there are some really great pictures that everyone would love to see.

Blessings,

Kathie

Kathie, I just email'd two photos of the meet and greet to Andrea from my cell phone, I hope this is ok!
We currently have over 325 photos of the various events but still need Jack, Don or any kind soul who attended the golf tounament to help us out with that event. I've sorted the photos into events and I'll call you later to figure out a solution to posting them on the website.

Take care, Ron

Bobbi Block (AKA Samantha Paris): Great to see you posted on this site yesterday. You looked so fabulous! I agree with you -- my soul was singing that night. It was great to see you (and read about you on your web site.).

Victoria Strong: You were beautiful and it really was a dream come true to see you again after 30 years. And Kimberly Farrell: Thanks for spending some of your reunion time with me. You were always one of my favorite people.

To everyone else I chatted with (I can't remember everybody, but those who spring to mind are Cindy Moran, Al Penerenda, Karen Frederikson, Sue Keeley, Kim Thomas, Bev Wiley, Randy Boulais, Laura Campbell, Scott and Lupe Boyd, Cindy Sherwood, Cathie Christman, Dee Dee Hart, Marybeth Urbanovich, Vickie Johnson, Gene De Felicis): Thanks for going. I'm glad we got to catch up, even a little bit. I'm sorry some of my other friends couldn't make it, like Priscilla Linn and Mark Carlson.

Let's all go to the 35th! If anyone would like to contact me, I'm at dfoy@da.sbcounty.gov

Fred M. and Glen W. I wish you guys would have been there. We missed you. Laura Graber great story about the kiss at Verdugo Park. Dean and Dorita I am really happy for you. Dorita you have a great laugh. Dean, Fred and I have e-mailed each other (hilarious). Dave P. great to see you.

Andrea Pope I meant every word I wrote in the red book. You are in my thoughts. Michelle Morales, sorry I missed you by one night. I hope life is treating you well.

Thanks everybody for a great night!

P.S. Ron Sab. I did have a hangover.

Hi Kathie, If possible, can you send me a photo of all of us who were at the meet and greet at the Burbank Bar and Grill. You can send it to me on the Farquhar6523@att.net or afarquhar@ucsd.edu. Either on would be great.
Also, everyone I saw at the reunion, please keep in touch with me if possible. Either email address if fine.
Take care all of you and see you in another 10 years.

What a great weekend. I loved seeing all of you. I sure wish we could do this more often but I'm glad to have gotten contact numbers from a lot of you. I would like to thank everyone on the comittee again for making this happen. You guys are great and provided us with another night of new memories.

Sheree, talking with you made my night. I will stay in touch and send you the rest of our Bret Harte pictures soon. I'm so happy for you and you are constantly in my prayers. Gina, it was great seeing you and hearing about what's going on in your life. It is always so soul lifting to hear that a friend's life is going so well. Julie, my good friend, seeing you is always a wonderful thing and it was good to see Matt again too. I thank God for you. Elizabeth, I'm glad I got to sit next to you and catch up on things. I'm sorry I missed out on saying goodbye. You will always be Betty to me. Scott Miller, my kindergarten classmate, I'm gonna keep in touch too. Teri, thank you for a great weekend. I'm so glad you came to all three events. I'll contact you this week. Rex and Cheryl, the two of you look great as usual and once again it was great spending a little time with you. I didn't tell you but the two of you and your family have been in my prayers over the last ten years. Kathie, thank you for all of your hard work and I'm glad to have spent all three days with you. Teresa Garcia, I didn't see you 'til the end of the night and didn't get to spend nearly enough time with you so please contact me and let's get together. Dean and Dorita, I know you've been married for five years, but I just found out and I'm so happy for both of you. As Merle Stone would have said, "Great job Dino, great job!" Darlene and Cindy, it was so good to see you both again. Thanks for making the effort to come see us from Texas Darlene. 31 years without seeing you was way too long. Andrea, it was great seeing you again as well. Glad you decided to come on Saturday after all. Bruce Grossman, email me bud, and let's make plans to get together. Well I guess I can't mention everyone, but it was a wonderful thing seeing all of you again after such a long time. People come and go in life, but a classmate is always a classmate, and that puts all of you in a very special place. May God bless you all.

I've posted it before, but my email address is jet.gino@gmail.com

Please say in touch.

What a magical night....A great big thank you, to those who made it happen. As I was walking to my car to drive home, my soul was really smiling... And I must say, we all looked lovely, didn't we? I think 48 is the new 35...except for those darn reading glasses! Again, my heartfelt thanks.

Kathie, thank you for all your hard work in putting the reunion together. I only found out about this website Friday night through my cousin, Cindy Hill. Although I could only attend the meet and greet on Friday night it was great to see people I haven't seen in years & to visit my home town. Donna Short and I were having a great time just driving through Burbank & seeing some of the old stomping grounds. For those that I missed, definitely my loss. Hope to see more of you soon up my way... great memories!

What a great reunion! It was such a blast to see everyone and catch up with old times. Thanks to Bev Wiley, Kathie Christman, Randy Boulais, Kim Thomas, Sue Keeley and all who were involved for making it possible. I really appreciated it. Also thanks to all the people who spent the money to fly out from long distances, like Kimberly Farrell. And I was so thrilled to see my first girlfriend, Victoria Strong, who I hadn't seen in 30 years.

I had so many great memories, none of which would have happened if it were not for the hard work and dedication of the Reunion Committee. Thanks again!

I couldn't make the reunion Saturday night but I did show up at the picnick on Sunday. I heard all about the reunion from numerous people I'm sorry I missed it. It was great seeing my classmates on Sunday. Much to my suprise, no one was hungover (guess we're getting old). Looking forward to the 35th and seeing more people. Take Care, Ron AKA "Sab"

OOPS...I guess I should have said 8 months!

Kathie Christman Kallestad

August 11, 2008

Some classmates have asked me how long this website will be up and running. I said it costs me $10.00 a month and then $20.00 once a year to renew the domain name. At the picnic I received donations that will keep the website running for the next 7 months. So if anyone else is interested in sponsoring a month, email me and let me know. On the "home" page, I will list the name(s) of our sponsors as I receive donations.

Thanks again for a wonderful time. For me, on Sunday, when everyone left, it felt like the last day of school. :(

Many thanks to all of the people who planned and organized this event. It was amazing to see everyone and Dorita and I had a wonderful time.

I am proud to say that I am a member of the JBHS class of 1978. Many people have gone on to do some great things in business, literature and the arts.

I know it is cliche for people to say "let's stay in touch." But I truly hope that those people that we reached out to will become a part of our lives in the future.

Fred, I have passed along your message and Al, Bob Hart, and a few others are interested in getting together. Glen Webb, sorry you couldn't make it. Please contact me about the get together with Fred. You can reach me at dtownsend11@yahoo.com. Dave Hawkins, thank you for the kind words and I am sorry I didn't get to speak with you longer.

It was a pleasure to see all of our classmates together again and I look forward to the 35 year event.

August 10, 2008

We have arrived home safely now from this wonderful 30th reunion weekend. We can now bask in the newest memories and look over the photos taken and try to once again put the faces and names together. Randy and I have worked the check in table at both the 20th and now 30th reunion which is a little like cheating because we get a "preview" of who's there and the chance to talk quickly with EVERYONE! Of course Liza & Randy had the nametags with pictures so they were better at connecting faces to names--Beverly-the list needs to be a bigger font (like 20?)thank goodness for reading glasses! I think over time we've all aged quite well--sort of like a fine wine...we just keep getting better and better!

So, do I dare try to quickly recap our fun? The tour at JBHS was great--nice to see some classmates and start sharing memories! The school has had a face lift-and of course the 300 building is GONE--Heff's classroom is a nice patch of grass--Speech might have been even more fun outside. Ron Buck--remember Craig Alexander's take on George Carlin's "Hippy Dippy Weatherman"?? (at least I hope it was Craig's rendition--the memory ya know!) I remember the class was laughing till we cried! Seeing our "78" on the "Memory Walk" brought back some great times that I will always remember from JBHS.

Bill Martin-it was so great to reconnect again at the tour and the reunion! Being on the 25th year cruise with you was a blast and really only makes it 5 years since we saw you--start saving for the 35th year cruise! PARTY!!! Maybe you'll even get extra dessert! LOL
Marianna Rice-sure enjoyed lunch at Tally Rand's (say "Chiz") and congrats on winning the centerpiece from the reunion-have fun flying that back to Texas!

Kari Harrison, Liza Warren--my kindergarten buddies from American Lutheran--we STILL look good! Geri Lorenzana: I knew you'd have fun! So glad you put down the homework to come to the park, too.

Kathie Christman Kallestad-you know I love ya and lets get started on the 35th CRUISE! Teri Shaver--I know you'll be there!

Beverly Wiley Park-thank you for all your hard work, now you can get some rest--and to the Reunion committee-thank you for the countless hours you put in to make this happen-often times its a thankless job--so THANKS!!!

To everyone else I may not have mentioned (I have to stop because I know the music will start playing...) it was wonderful seeing you and reconnecting--that's what reunions are about-reconnecting!

Shannon Pratt Elder--we sure missed you!!

And of course--I can't end without a mention about my all time favorite classmate--Randy Boulais--I love you, honey! (all together now...awwwwww)

Until we meet again--cheers to the great Class of '78!

OH MY GOSH! My feet are killing me! But I wouldn't change that for the world. Teri Shaver, Denise Lively, Kim Farrell, Scott Miller, Cyndi and Randy Boulais, and Dave Hawkins among others...thanks for the dance(s).

Betty Boysen and Julie Baker, thank you so much for the nice words and gift. You are quite welcome. You both couldn't be nicer or cuter if you tried!

Sharron McCorkle..YEA! I'm so glad you made it last night. For me, it just wouldn't have been the same without you. Just hearing your laughter brings back great memories for me.

Jeff Lane, as always, wonderfully warm memories accompany me whenever I am around you.

Matt and Marybeth! Why didn't we get a picture of us last night! You both looked so fabulous. I love you both very much.

Ron Malo..I'm glad your work schedule rearranged itself so that you could be at all of the events. You are just as crazy (in a good way) now as you were in school.

Denise Lively..isn't it amazing how you can re-unite with people after 30 years and things can be even better now than they were back then. Thanks for sharing your room with Teri and I. You are a kind hearted soul that I am blessed to call my friend.

Teri Shaver, what could I possibly say that could express how I feel about my "old" high school best friend? I just love you and look forward to many, many more years of memories.

Rene Smola, as we said last night, lets not wait another 10 years to have a conversation! You looked fabulous and you are just as fun now as you were back "then".

Robin Oomens! You disappeared and we never had a chance to finish our catch-up chat. Let's email or land line or maybe I'll see you at the picnic today at 12:00 at Verdugo.

OK....so many wonderful people and memories. Thanks to the reunion committee for the slide show, the decorations, the game show...etc. I had nothing to do with all of that and you guys did a great job.

Thank you (I think) Teri, Denise, Gene DeFelicis and Scott for keeping me out until 3:00am at IHOP. I am tuckered today.
Gene, tell your lovely wife she needs to come to the 35 or 40! I liked her alot.

And last but not least, to Scott Gillis, my dear friend and (old crush). It was so great to hang out with you for a while and catch up. I don't know how you manage to actually look younger that 10 years ago, but you did...at least to me.

I was blessed to love high school and I love every reunion. I love our class.

Blessings to you all.
