Wow, when I think of our reunion, I can't stop smiling! What incredible joy fills me when I think of all my classmates. God was in heaven and all was right with the world that night!

Jeannie Ramirez my softball friend since we were 9, seeing your sweet face made me feel such amazing peace.

Dave Foy you handsome devel, thanks for all your kind and gentle words and for thinking of me from time to time. It did my heart good to hear and see you too.

Bev - every time I see or think of you, I remember our experience on stage with Sweet Charity. I feel bonded to you for life! I'm happy to know that you're keeping your world filled with music. The presentation was perfect and "For Good" was a beautiful choice - I got the message - and I feel the same!

Dave Hawkins - thanks for the golf day! You rock! And I don't care what anyone says, you can swing a mean club my friend.

Sending all my classmates lots of love and appreciation. For the memory of you never ceases to make me smile - with my heart.

Boohoo. It's been raining here. And, too add salt to the wound, we have two trees on our cul de sac that have started changing color! I will have to keep some photos from the golf tournament in my studio, so I don't forget what sunshine is.

Sorry to post so late but want to say that I had a great time at the reunion. After much hesitation about going I am so happy to have relived so many memories in one night. Laura Graber you are a gem...you are the most consistent girl I've ever known...always sweet, kind and oh so funny! Bobbi/Samantha you are a breath of fresh air. I am so happy you are doing so well in SF. Can't wait to see you again and really catch up. I'd love to plan a dinner w/you and Julie Baker when you're in LA in September. Julie - you are so sweet. I so appreciate your warm reception. It put a smile on my face:) Rex and Cheryl - you are the bomb! Cindy and Darlene - I was so happy to sit w/you and catch up. Dean Whiteside - it was a pleasure! Liza & Cindy - I couldn't think of a better way to start my night. Dee Dee you're enthusiasm is contagious! Betty B. you are a gem as you always were - would love to spend some time w/you. Julie & Dave P., Al P, Scott Miller, Sharon M., Pat Maskell, Kim D, Gina G. - it was great to visit w/all of you. Gene - I haven't forgotten, I will be in touch soon. Sheree, you are truly precious. Angela Kisiel I'm sorry you couldn't be there but I honored your request and gave Kathie Christman a big hug for you. Kathie - you did a great job along w/the rest of your posse. Bev - you light up a room! It was a wonderful night, I just wish I could have visited w/many others I missed. karirohr@ivyhill-cinram.com

Ok, just to make sure. You all know that there is a link on the "home" page that takes you to a site that has over 300 pictures from the reunion, right? Just making sure because some of you are making it sound like 300 just isn't enough. ;)

We're also thinking about meeting at the Burbank Bar and Grill early next month on a Friday for people who took pictures (or just want an excuse to visit) and would like to get them on the site. But we need to know if this is something you want. Ron and I don't want to show up and be alone and friendless. So let us know what you think.

Cindy Sherwood – Yes I do remember Craig doing that take on George Carlin it was quite funny. The other thing that I remember about Heff’s class is Craig and Cathy could at any time of the day, would breakout into Steve Martins S.L.N. “Were just a bunch of wild and crazy guys” What a great time I had in that class. My only regret is that I did not find Heffs class sooner.

A big hello to Laura Graber it’s been along time since Nanette and I have seen you. I hope you are doing well. We have been in Southern Utah for the last 17 years; it’s been a great place to raise our kids.

We have the best class!!! "A GRAND BUNCH" Another fun time catching up with old buds & some I didn't know that well in school. I must admit the highlight for me was getting a hug from my 6th grade crush (thanks Donna) but the whole experience was so fun. A few people asked me to let them know when my Band plays at the BIG FISH in Glendale (Pete Matsuoka is in the band) please email me at dennster42@aol.com & I’ll send a reminder when we play. Always good to see JBHS-78 classmates at the gigs. Our website is www.freewebs.com/guitarjam/ . My wife Sheryl & I wish everybody the best & look forward to seeing my classmate again at the next event. Thanks to Kathie & the gang for putting it together

To echo so many – GREAT JOB REUNION COMMITTEE!!

Talking about how fast 30 years goes by, the night seemed to fly by as well. It was great seeing everyone both Friday as well as Saturday night.

Laurie Knight and Laura Graber it was nice spending time on Friday night with the two of you. Laurie you are right us California Street kids had a great time as always. Speaking of CA street kids, Sharon McCorkle I am so glad you came it has been years since I’ve seen you and I want to make sure we stay I touch. Gene I will be sure to stay in touch, you are an amazing person with your memory. Talking to you as you remembered our elementary school days brought back many memories. Sheree and Gina I am glad we got to spend some time talking on Saturday night it was fun talking about “old” times. Jeff, Joe, Steve and Scott it was a laugh a minute at our table and was much too short. Jeanne I didn’t get to talk to you on Friday but was glad I got to spend some time with you on Saturday. Stay strong and I wish you the best! Betty (and yes you will be Betty always) I was happy you came and we got to talk about the early days and the fun we had growing up. I will be sure to tell my brother we had a good laugh about your porch sweeping days. Know that I could go on and on about all of you that I spent time with and the ones I missed but I’m sure everyone would get bored. Suffice it to say that I enjoyed the short time we all had this weekend and hope that we have as good a showing (if not better) at our 35th!

Anyone and everyone stay in touch – scottm@garwoodlabs.com

Has anyone clicked on the "events/prices" button at the top? We have a new event! In just one short year we will be meeting at the Burbank Bar and Grill once again. If anyone ever has an event that they want posted on this website, please feel free to contact me.

Ron, thanks for getting the photos together and figuring out a way to post them for everyone. I know there are some really great pictures that everyone would love to see.

Blessings,

Kathie

Kathie, I just email'd two photos of the meet and greet to Andrea from my cell phone, I hope this is ok!
We currently have over 325 photos of the various events but still need Jack, Don or any kind soul who attended the golf tounament to help us out with that event. I've sorted the photos into events and I'll call you later to figure out a solution to posting them on the website.

Take care, Ron

Bobbi Block (AKA Samantha Paris): Great to see you posted on this site yesterday. You looked so fabulous! I agree with you -- my soul was singing that night. It was great to see you (and read about you on your web site.).

Victoria Strong: You were beautiful and it really was a dream come true to see you again after 30 years. And Kimberly Farrell: Thanks for spending some of your reunion time with me. You were always one of my favorite people.

To everyone else I chatted with (I can't remember everybody, but those who spring to mind are Cindy Moran, Al Penerenda, Karen Frederikson, Sue Keeley, Kim Thomas, Bev Wiley, Randy Boulais, Laura Campbell, Scott and Lupe Boyd, Cindy Sherwood, Cathie Christman, Dee Dee Hart, Marybeth Urbanovich, Vickie Johnson, Gene De Felicis): Thanks for going. I'm glad we got to catch up, even a little bit. I'm sorry some of my other friends couldn't make it, like Priscilla Linn and Mark Carlson.

Let's all go to the 35th! If anyone would like to contact me, I'm at dfoy@da.sbcounty.gov

Fred M. and Glen W. I wish you guys would have been there. We missed you. Laura Graber great story about the kiss at Verdugo Park. Dean and Dorita I am really happy for you. Dorita you have a great laugh. Dean, Fred and I have e-mailed each other (hilarious). Dave P. great to see you.

Andrea Pope I meant every word I wrote in the red book. You are in my thoughts. Michelle Morales, sorry I missed you by one night. I hope life is treating you well.

Thanks everybody for a great night!

P.S. Ron Sab. I did have a hangover.

Hi Kathie, If possible, can you send me a photo of all of us who were at the meet and greet at the Burbank Bar and Grill. You can send it to me on the Farquhar6523@att.net or afarquhar@ucsd.edu. Either on would be great.
Also, everyone I saw at the reunion, please keep in touch with me if possible. Either email address if fine.
Take care all of you and see you in another 10 years.

August 11, 2008

What a great weekend. I loved seeing all of you. I sure wish we could do this more often but I'm glad to have gotten contact numbers from a lot of you. I would like to thank everyone on the comittee again for making this happen. You guys are great and provided us with another night of new memories.

Sheree, talking with you made my night. I will stay in touch and send you the rest of our Bret Harte pictures soon. I'm so happy for you and you are constantly in my prayers. Gina, it was great seeing you and hearing about what's going on in your life. It is always so soul lifting to hear that a friend's life is going so well. Julie, my good friend, seeing you is always a wonderful thing and it was good to see Matt again too. I thank God for you. Elizabeth, I'm glad I got to sit next to you and catch up on things. I'm sorry I missed out on saying goodbye. You will always be Betty to me. Scott Miller, my kindergarten classmate, I'm gonna keep in touch too. Teri, thank you for a great weekend. I'm so glad you came to all three events. I'll contact you this week. Rex and Cheryl, the two of you look great as usual and once again it was great spending a little time with you. I didn't tell you but the two of you and your family have been in my prayers over the last ten years. Kathie, thank you for all of your hard work and I'm glad to have spent all three days with you. Teresa Garcia, I didn't see you 'til the end of the night and didn't get to spend nearly enough time with you so please contact me and let's get together. Dean and Dorita, I know you've been married for five years, but I just found out and I'm so happy for both of you. As Merle Stone would have said, "Great job Dino, great job!" Darlene and Cindy, it was so good to see you both again. Thanks for making the effort to come see us from Texas Darlene. 31 years without seeing you was way too long. Andrea, it was great seeing you again as well. Glad you decided to come on Saturday after all. Bruce Grossman, email me bud, and let's make plans to get together. Well I guess I can't mention everyone, but it was a wonderful thing seeing all of you again after such a long time. People come and go in life, but a classmate is always a classmate, and that puts all of you in a very special place. May God bless you all.

I've posted it before, but my email address is jet.gino@gmail.com

Please say in touch.

What a magical night....A great big thank you, to those who made it happen. As I was walking to my car to drive home, my soul was really smiling... And I must say, we all looked lovely, didn't we? I think 48 is the new 35...except for those darn reading glasses! Again, my heartfelt thanks.

Michelle (Morales) Hays

August 11, 2008

Kathie, thank you for all your hard work in putting the reunion together. I only found out about this website Friday night through my cousin, Cindy Hill. Although I could only attend the meet and greet on Friday night it was great to see people I haven't seen in years & to visit my home town. Donna Short and I were having a great time just driving through Burbank & seeing some of the old stomping grounds. For those that I missed, definitely my loss. Hope to see more of you soon up my way... great memories!

David Foy

August 11, 2008

What a great reunion! It was such a blast to see everyone and catch up with old times. Thanks to Bev Wiley, Kathie Christman, Randy Boulais, Kim Thomas, Sue Keeley and all who were involved for making it possible. I really appreciated it. Also thanks to all the people who spent the money to fly out from long distances, like Kimberly Farrell. And I was so thrilled to see my first girlfriend, Victoria Strong, who I hadn't seen in 30 years.

I had so many great memories, none of which would have happened if it were not for the hard work and dedication of the Reunion Committee. Thanks again!

Ron Sabatine

August 11, 2008

I couldn't make the reunion Saturday night but I did show up at the picnick on Sunday. I heard all about the reunion from numerous people I'm sorry I missed it. It was great seeing my classmates on Sunday. Much to my suprise, no one was hungover (guess we're getting old). Looking forward to the 35th and seeing more people. Take Care, Ron AKA "Sab"

Kathie Christman Kallestad

August 11, 2008

OOPS...I guess I should have said 8 months!

Kathie Christman Kallestad

August 11, 2008

Some classmates have asked me how long this website will be up and running. I said it costs me $10.00 a month and then $20.00 once a year to renew the domain name. At the picnic I received donations that will keep the website running for the next 7 months. So if anyone else is interested in sponsoring a month, email me and let me know. On the "home" page, I will list the name(s) of our sponsors as I receive donations.

Thanks again for a wonderful time. For me, on Sunday, when everyone left, it felt like the last day of school. :(

Dean Townsend

August 11, 2008

Many thanks to all of the people who planned and organized this event. It was amazing to see everyone and Dorita and I had a wonderful time.

I am proud to say that I am a member of the JBHS class of 1978. Many people have gone on to do some great things in business, literature and the arts.

I know it is cliche for people to say "let's stay in touch." But I truly hope that those people that we reached out to will become a part of our lives in the future.

Fred, I have passed along your message and Al, Bob Hart, and a few others are interested in getting together. Glen Webb, sorry you couldn't make it. Please contact me about the get together with Fred. You can reach me at dtownsend11@yahoo.com. Dave Hawkins, thank you for the kind words and I am sorry I didn't get to speak with you longer.

It was a pleasure to see all of our classmates together again and I look forward to the 35 year event.

Hey!!!
I got emailed a link to this site.
Sounds like everyone had a great time.
We sure had a blast last year. It would be great to see some pictures from the event.
Can you post them or email?
I tried to talk my brother Mark into going...........but...anyway....Hi to all my friends from the class of 78

Cindy Sherwood Boulais

August 10, 2008

We have arrived home safely now from this wonderful 30th reunion weekend. We can now bask in the newest memories and look over the photos taken and try to once again put the faces and names together. Randy and I have worked the check in table at both the 20th and now 30th reunion which is a little like cheating because we get a "preview" of who's there and the chance to talk quickly with EVERYONE! Of course Liza & Randy had the nametags with pictures so they were better at connecting faces to names--Beverly-the list needs to be a bigger font (like 20?)thank goodness for reading glasses! I think over time we've all aged quite well--sort of like a fine wine...we just keep getting better and better!

So, do I dare try to quickly recap our fun? The tour at JBHS was great--nice to see some classmates and start sharing memories! The school has had a face lift-and of course the 300 building is GONE--Heff's classroom is a nice patch of grass--Speech might have been even more fun outside. Ron Buck--remember Craig Alexander's take on George Carlin's "Hippy Dippy Weatherman"?? (at least I hope it was Craig's rendition--the memory ya know!) I remember the class was laughing till we cried! Seeing our "78" on the "Memory Walk" brought back some great times that I will always remember from JBHS.

Bill Martin-it was so great to reconnect again at the tour and the reunion! Being on the 25th year cruise with you was a blast and really only makes it 5 years since we saw you--start saving for the 35th year cruise! PARTY!!! Maybe you'll even get extra dessert! LOL
Marianna Rice-sure enjoyed lunch at Tally Rand's (say "Chiz") and congrats on winning the centerpiece from the reunion-have fun flying that back to Texas!

Kari Harrison, Liza Warren--my kindergarten buddies from American Lutheran--we STILL look good! Geri Lorenzana: I knew you'd have fun! So glad you put down the homework to come to the park, too.

Kathie Christman Kallestad-you know I love ya and lets get started on the 35th CRUISE! Teri Shaver--I know you'll be there!

Beverly Wiley Park-thank you for all your hard work, now you can get some rest--and to the Reunion committee-thank you for the countless hours you put in to make this happen-often times its a thankless job--so THANKS!!!

To everyone else I may not have mentioned (I have to stop because I know the music will start playing...) it was wonderful seeing you and reconnecting--that's what reunions are about-reconnecting!

Shannon Pratt Elder--we sure missed you!!

And of course--I can't end without a mention about my all time favorite classmate--Randy Boulais--I love you, honey! (all together now...awwwwww)

Until we meet again--cheers to the great Class of '78!

Kathie Christman Kallestad

August 10, 2008

OH MY GOSH! My feet are killing me! But I wouldn't change that for the world. Teri Shaver, Denise Lively, Kim Farrell, Scott Miller, Cyndi and Randy Boulais, and Dave Hawkins among others...thanks for the dance(s).

Betty Boysen and Julie Baker, thank you so much for the nice words and gift. You are quite welcome. You both couldn't be nicer or cuter if you tried!

Sharron McCorkle..YEA! I'm so glad you made it last night. For me, it just wouldn't have been the same without you. Just hearing your laughter brings back great memories for me.

Jeff Lane, as always, wonderfully warm memories accompany me whenever I am around you.

Matt and Marybeth! Why didn't we get a picture of us last night! You both looked so fabulous. I love you both very much.

Ron Malo..I'm glad your work schedule rearranged itself so that you could be at all of the events. You are just as crazy (in a good way) now as you were in school.

Denise Lively..isn't it amazing how you can re-unite with people after 30 years and things can be even better now than they were back then. Thanks for sharing your room with Teri and I. You are a kind hearted soul that I am blessed to call my friend.

Teri Shaver, what could I possibly say that could express how I feel about my "old" high school best friend? I just love you and look forward to many, many more years of memories.

Rene Smola, as we said last night, lets not wait another 10 years to have a conversation! You looked fabulous and you are just as fun now as you were back "then".

Robin Oomens! You disappeared and we never had a chance to finish our catch-up chat. Let's email or land line or maybe I'll see you at the picnic today at 12:00 at Verdugo.

OK....so many wonderful people and memories. Thanks to the reunion committee for the slide show, the decorations, the game show...etc. I had nothing to do with all of that and you guys did a great job.

Thank you (I think) Teri, Denise, Gene DeFelicis and Scott for keeping me out until 3:00am at IHOP. I am tuckered today.
Gene, tell your lovely wife she needs to come to the 35 or 40! I liked her alot.

And last but not least, to Scott Gillis, my dear friend and (old crush). It was so great to hang out with you for a while and catch up. I don't know how you manage to actually look younger that 10 years ago, but you did...at least to me.

I was blessed to love high school and I love every reunion. I love our class.

Blessings to you all.

Jim Rowan

August 10, 2008

I'd like to take a moment to say thank you, to Kathie for getting everyone together.

I had a great time last night at the grill.

Shannon Pratt, you'll be missed, sorry you can't be here tonight.

I'm looking forward to speaking to any one, or should that be listen to everyone at the party afterwards.

To everyone in our class, thanks for all the memories.

Randy Boulais

August 9, 2008

Just over an Hour to go until the big event. The tour of the school was fun today. Wow, I wish we had it that nice. We will miss you tonight Shannon.

Shannon (Pratt) Elder

August 9, 2008

I will not be able to attend tonight's reunion. Mommy-duties have kept me home. Both my children will be starting different schools on Monday morning, and I felt the need to be here for them. I have enjoyed reading all the different comments here. For the person(s) that have felt left out, who didn't feel left out at some point in High School. But, we aren't in High School any longer, and the only way to be involved is to get involved.

To the reunion committee, I was on the 10 year committee, and it is a thankless job. Just like volunteering at your childs' school, it's something that needs to be done, if it isn't everyone notices, but hardly ever does anyone thank you for your efforts. Even if I can't join the fun of the reunion, I can still appreciate all the time and effort the committee has put into the event.

I loved my 3 years in Speech with Ira Heffler. I loved the Friday night football games. I loved the friends I made and the relationships that have lasted the test of time.

Now, like many of you, I am watching High School years all over again through my daughters eyes. She is a self proclaimed "band geek" and loves it.

I hope you have have a terrific time tonight! Enjoy!
Love,
Shannon

Hi class of 78> i had a blast last night at the BB&G and saw some classmates and Kathy C. talked me into going tonight to the reunion so I am going. See you there.

Heartfelt Hello to all my JBHS classmates,

What a great time at both our Golf event and the Meet-Greet! I'm sooo grateful to see and enjoy the laughter of everyone. I so enjoyed my visit with Gene and wife Stacey De Felicis. Thank you for our friendly visit.

I look forward to more memory making moments tonight!

Kathy Arnold, I hope to see you and catch up.

To my classmates of JBHS I hope you have a great time this weekend. My thoughts and prayers are with you. As to the disenfranchised members of our class it’s too bad that your memories of high school are so painful. As the Don Henley song from the Eagles said “Get Over it”

I don’t’ know who was in the “in” crowd? As for me I had a good time in High School with a lot of different people, the weekend tournaments in VICA with the metal and auto shop guys. Not to mention Mr. Johnson and Mr. Gantz that gave up countless hours during the year getting us ready for those competitions. The Saturday tournaments with the Speech class kids Kathy Arnold, Craig Alexander, and Cindy Sherwood what a blast I had with that group.

The hours in the pool with the Water Polo and Swim teams, and the friendships we made their. The great times Fred, DJ, Roy and I had at the Magnolia Theater, Mike Van Gomple and I going to countless concerts at the Forum (Thanks Mike). Or being in the Business Law class with AP, Andy “Gump” Ward, and Janie Teague, (what a great person you have always been Jenie) and learning and laughing with Mr. Jackson. Not to mention hanging around with Brian Jarbo (RIP brother) Pam Openbrier, Lois Decamp, and some of the other Keystone kids.

Three of my kids have graduated for High School and have my youngest in 9th grade this year. I have tried to teach my kids, High School is not the real world. Don’t get caught up in some of the silly mind games their. That said I told them to have a good time and enjoy it.

My best wishes to you all…

Just got home from the Burbank Bar and Grill and wanted to say that it was so great to see everyone. My wife was very impressed with what a warm and friendly group of people she encountered. She even expressed the smallest bit of jealousy and said she wished she came from as great of a class as ours. Looking forward to tomorrow more than ever.

I am very excited about hitting the reunion tomorrow night!

For those of you that are acting as if we are still in HS - suck it up. I'm assuming you can add and that you know you graduated in 1978. Simple math = 2008 would be a 30 year reunion. Phones dial both ways. Kathie and Bev seem to always be the "starting point" on organizing these things. YOU could have tracked THEM down......AND - if you can't say anything nice about all the hard work that has gone into making this happen, then please (how do I say this nicely?) be quiet!!!

Now - this will be a fun weekend! I apologize in advance if I can't remember your name/face. I'm hoping it will all come back to me when I actually SEE people! LOL. Looking forward to it!

Thank you to all those who worked so hard on organizing these events. It is not an easy task and your efforts are GREATLY appreciated!

Cheers until tomorrow!

Janee, you always had a way of saying things that were "right on"! Everyone has some mixed feelings about High School, but my wife told me after attending our 10 year reunion that she was amazed at how well everyone in our class got along and that even though there were natural groups of friends, everyone mixed together easily and nobody was excluded.

Keystoners, band members, athletes, brainiacs, etc, all enjoyed seeing one another and the old cliques didn't apply anymore. We had all "made it through" those difficult teen years together.

Everyone was just happy to be there and catch up with old classmates.

Looking back, I think we were all very blessed and fortunate to attend JBHS at that point in time.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

PS - 6th grade at McKinley (Mr. McCormack) truly was a great year that still stands out in my school memories!

Hi Guys,
Unfortunatley I cannot attend the reunion, BUT...I have a huge favor to ask anyone that can help me :) All of my yearbooks from good ol' JBHS were lost in a move. Does anyone know where or even if, I could get a copy of our yearbook(s) most importantly our Senior year. If anyone knows who I could get incontact with, that would be AWESOME. My son graduated High School this year and my daughter is a Sophmore, and they are always wanting to see my yearbook :) my e-mail is whitmanfour@aol.com ~ Hope you all have a great time this week-end. Hopefully I will see y'all at the 40th or perhaps there will be a 35th! In closing, and for what it is worth, I have enjoyed peeking at this page :) I know it took hard work on the part of many to put it all together. So, please know I for one, appreciate all the efforts.
God Bless & keep til next time class of 78

Julie Baker,
You are so peculiar, maybe that's why we've stayed Best Friends! Thank God you found a peculiar husband to boot! Looking forward to seeing all my old friends and making some new/old ones as well...
Whose coming? Sound off...

Kathie, I'm not asking you to compile a list or anything! No doubt that you just happen to have one at your fingertips, however I just hope you're getting a massage or something special today!

Love to all ~ Attending or not!

August 8, 2008

Wow - I miss one day of checking out the postings on this site, and look at everything I've missed!

I wanted to send a public thank you to Kathie Christmas Kallestad for everything she has done to contact our classmates. It is a difficult job, and she had more than her share of issues this year with some of our old classmates. Kathie, please don't apologize for missing people - you do a great job.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. 30 years is a very long time, and we can only hope that we're here in another 30 years.

Kathie Christman Kallestad

August 8, 2008

Wow, ok, let me start by saying that there were a handful of emails from classmates stating that they would love to help or if I/we (the reunion committee) needed help, to please give them a call or email. I believe I responded to all of them by saying if they could help locate some of our classmates, that would be awesome. I also forwarded these e-mails to Bev. Because no one stated bluntly that they wanted to be on the committee, I assumed (wrongly) that they were there if we needed them. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you view things, we have a group of people who get things done and very little extra help was needed. But I do believe that this brings up something that needs to be addressed. The reunion committee is not and never has been a closed circle. Maybe we need to have a sign up sheet at this years reunion table for people who are interested for our 35-40 year reunion. That way we would know who to contact right from the beginning to include in the meetings. If anyone else has any ideas about how to resolve this issue, please feel free to share. I believe this is all a huge misunderstanding and lack of communication on our (the committee's) and yours (whoever really wanted to be on, but didn't say it strongly or plainly enough).

Here is a list of people who said they'd like to help:

"Please let me know if I can help in any way with the reunion, I am looking forward to hearing back from you." - Malia Bown

"I am looking forward to the reunion. If you need some help let me know.
Thanks", -Gina Geraci

"If you need me to do anything let me know"- Jodi Goss Peltier

"Let me know if you need any help."-
Jan (Gudzin) Phillips

"It was nice talking with you again yesterday on the phone, and if you need any help planning it, please let me know. I can try and help you out how ever I can." -Bill Martin

Good to hear from you! Let me know if I can do anything." -Scott Miller

"I would love to help with the reunion. I do travel a lot with my job but, I would be happy to help out." - Linda Rhodes

"I told Bev I would like to help with the reunion. Let me know if you need help." - Carol Severs Lovejoy

"Thank you for all the work required to make these special events happen.
Let me know if I can help." - Dave Stevenson

Thank you all for offering. If I/we have hurt your feelings by not taking you up on your offer, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. If any one of you is interested in helping me locate missing alumni for our next reunion...I will NOT turn down your help. I wouldn't have turned down your help this year, but no one seemed too excited about the job I have. ;) But I love it and again I am so sorry for any hurt feelings.

See you all this weekend!

THis is a great website. My friend Don Rode told me about this. I can't make it to the reunion but he said something about a get together at the Burbank Bar and Grill tonight Friday 8/8. I am coming from San Diego and hope to make it in for a few at night with my friend Liz. My husband is out to see right now and can't make it with me. Thanks again for this website

Hi George, I still see Sharon Soss. She will not be coming to the reunion as she is out of town but I will get her permission to put her email address on this site when she returns.
And as for you Mr. Anonoymous (or Miss) - Kathie Christman has spent countless hours the last year searching for the addresses of people in this class. No one else had the heart or the time she did to take on this project and there would not even be a reunion if it wasn't for her efforts. And guess what, Kathie and I didn't really know each other in high school and now she is my sister-in-law! Things doooo change....... Sound like you haven't. If you really are someone who was in our class and these are your sincere feelings, make yourself known so we can reconcile......

Hi George,

I am sorry but I do not know you.

I was a good friend of Sharon Soss also.

We go way back to good old Stevenson School.

You might want to contact Viky Johnson.
She is a sweet heart.

She was your class of 78 and she is still in contact with Sharon S.

I think she was living in Ventura.

If you touch base please let me know. She was an awesome gal.

Good luck.

August 7, 2008

I have checked this site faithfully since it was set up...i can see where some may feel left out..the "commitee" for example has been the same group for all the reunions kind of like a little closed circle just like in High School. I have talked with several other classmates that volunteered to help, and were never even given the courtesy of having their e-mails returned / acknowledged. I can see how that would be perceived by some as being left out, or the little click from 30 years ago still going strong. Just a different perspective to ponder...

Dear JBHS Class of 1978,

I am on a dear search for any way of getting in contact with Sharon Soss. I am a friend of hers from her days at Van Nuys and CSUN. It would be most inspiring to see and hear from her again, not to mention, catch up. My contact information is: georgekuhr@yahoo.com.

Thank You and Have a Great Reunion,
Congratulations at Reaching the 30th.
1978 Was A Great Year!

Oh, two things, 1: the meet and greet at the Burbank Bar and Grill tomorrow night starts at 4:00. It's early because they said that the patio area is a first come first served area and they will fill it up with diners unless we fill it up first with alumni. So Come on down. 2: the picnic will be at Verdugo park. BYOE:Bring you own everything! It will start at 12:00. Bring the kids or pets!

As for the "left out" alumni. I'm the one who needs to apologize to you(both) and anyone else who might feel the same way. I did not use a phone book to find people. I used an online "people search" program that supposedly had every "listed" person in every state. If you would like to email me personally, I would be interested to know if you are even on the list that I've been working from. I know that there are a few students that are on "classmates.com" that have not been on my list. But they've been getting invites through "classmates".

So again, I apologize. And I also agree with the others who have invited you to come. Please, come at 8:00. We would love to have you. It was never a purposeful oversight on my part or the committee's. Please forgive me if I have caused any hurt feelings. It was not my intention.

If you have decided that you really do want to come to the reunion, here's the latest: Although you won't be able to join us for dinner, by paying $45.00 at the door you can join us after 8:00 pm for dancing and socializing!

Just wanted to say that I've been checking the postings over the last couple of weeks, since I came upon the reunion website, and enjoy reading the comments and feelings expressed! I will not be able to make this reunion, and it's only because I recently relocated the the Pac Northwest, and simply do not have the time off...I regret that I will not be there! I know it will be a helluva good time on Saturday night, and I'll think of you all! So raise your glasses in a toast that you've made it this far in one piece, and I'll look for you at the 40th!!

Janee, I love your message. You were always the smartest girl I knew - actually it was a tie between you and Suzan Keeley-Headley. Mark, 6th grade McKinley was my favorite year! Mr. McCormick, "Marsha Brady's" dad. I still brag about that. My daughter is starting sixth grade this year and I have been remembering how fun that year was for me.

August 7, 2008

Okay, I had kinda' changed my mind about coming to this Reunion, husbands out of town, nothing to wear, body not what I'd like it to be... I could go on, but I'll save it for Therapy! I was only at JBHS for 2 years, took the CHSPE Test and left at the end of my Junior year, started out at Valley College a year early.

Now I'm thinkin' I just need to come. Many of you probably don't even remember me, as I was a Luther Girl and half of my Junior High friends went to Burbank High. However, after reading the anonymous message, as well as those from Gene, Janee and Julie, I'm gonna' find something in my closet to throw on and show up. What the heck, I'm paid up and I look forward to seeing all of you! Life is too mysterious ~ Don't take it too serious!
I just wish Ray Boyd was coming!

Julie (Baker) O'Connor

August 7, 2008

Thank you Janee and Gene. I mean it. You both have expressed such nice words to us all.

Who felt accepted in high school anyway? I didn't. Ever. Geez, I still feel funny about showing up...but I'm showing up. "Suit up and show up" that's what I've learned. You never know what gifts will come your way or who might need to see you.

In the end, if all I leave with is a hug from Gene, I'm good to go.

PS The one who wrote before me sounds like something my husband would write ;)

August 7, 2008

Dear Disenfranchised, Suck it up! Come in for the big win. Nobody's going to fault ya. We're all mature grown ups now and can't wait to see ya. Disco down and check out the show!

August 7, 2008

I am not going to make the reunion as we have plans to be out of town with friends that could not be changed. I am very sad!

I want to comment to the people who are feeling left out. High School is a great time for some and hard for others. I have 3 kids who have all been through high school and another who will start next year. As a mom, I saw it through a whole new perspective. There are a lot of emotions, a lot of growing pains and a lot of questions. Even the kids who are thought to be popular feel left out at times. I know we all felt these same things throughout our years of high school.

But things HAVE changed....we have all been through a lot of life...wonderful times but also heartache. What I have learned from it all is that life is too short to hold on to past hurts.

I know we all wish we could go back and do some things differently...maybe be a little nicer, more caring and more sensitive to what others were feeling. But, we were young, self absorbed teenagers and didn't know better. Now we do.

Whoever you are, I am sorry if you felt left out. I know the committee worked VERY hard to find everyone. Everyone is invited and wanted. Please consider going to the reunion.

To all who are going, have a great time. I will miss you.

August 7, 2008

Well, I apologize that you have been overlooked. I haven't been part of the reunion committee, but I know that they have put a lot of effort into trying to contact every person in our class. They have found many of our classmates whose whereabouts were lost, and I am thankful for all of them. Again, think about joining us this weekend. If you would prefer to talk privately my email is jet.gino@gmail.com . I hope you'll come. We're not getting any younger.

August 7, 2008

Things have changed !!! at the 20th reunion I sat at a bar after the picnic with 10 people that would have never even looked at each other in School. We had a great time talking over a cold beer. So come on by the reunion Mystery Man "you might even have a good time" The class of JBHS 1978 ROCKS!!!!

August 7, 2008

I also agree with feeling left. I just happened to stumble onto this website. It's amazing how this class has had all these reunions and this is the only one i have ever known about and it was by accident. I do now and have always lived, but have never been contacted and I am listed in the phone book

don rode

August 7, 2008

great comment gene!! i truly think that all of the classmates that have corresponded on here have shared genuine thoughts and feelings and sincerity.these reunions are all about reconnecting and bonding with each and every person that was in the great class of 1978!!

Gene De Felicis

August 7, 2008

Well actually, things have changed over and over during the last 30 years. As far as I can see, everyone who has posted is genuine and sincere. I'm not sure why, but some people here I went to school with for 13 years, and some only three, but all hold a special place in my memories. It's a great thing to catch up with people that you were childhood friends with during the only time of innocence that we get during this life. I don't know who you are since you didn't post your name, but I'll bet if you would joined us this weekend you'd have a great time.

August 7, 2008

Can see that things haven't changed after 30 years. The people that were popular still forget those that weren't. This why a lot of people don't come to the reunions. Have a good time!

I hope all the class of 1978 has a blast at the reunion. I wish i could have made it to Cali for the reunion but life does get in the way my youngest is right in the middle of fastpitch softball and the oldest in volleyball. We are fine here on the east coast.See you next time classmates

Hey Class of 1978!!! I reiterate Tony D's advice: make sure you attend your reunion--you won't regret it. It's great to catch up with each other all these years. Some of the other 1977 gals and I (Carol, Vicki, Cathi... Anna lives in North Carolina!) are thinking about stopping by to say hi later in the evening after dinner.
